Raynor Massage

What is Raynor Massage?

Raynor deep tissue massage isn’t quite like other types of massage. It is a holistic system of bodywork developed by Naturopath, Brandon Raynor. It combines ancient and modern massage techniques targeting bands of tension around the body.

The primary aim of Raynor Massage is to relieve a person of residual tension, muscle tightness in an area of the body when the body is at rest, and return the body to its natural state of relaxation. The word “relax” literally means to bring back to a state of looseness. “Re” means to bring back to and “lax” means loose.

It also concentrates on parts of the body that are often neglected by traditional massage therapists, such as the sacrum, hips, feet, hands and head. These areas tend to hold a lot of tension and stagnation of energy. So for example, if you find you have tension in your back, neck and shoulder area I may actually focus on your hands and arms to release some of the tension before applying deeper pressure on the back.

What to expect?

At the beginning of a session I will take a brief medical history and discuss the reasons why you are seeking massage treatment so I can make sure you are getting the most from your session.

There is no set routine for Raynor Massage and I will use your specific treatment needs to tailor the treatment.

I will work with you to locate specific areas of tension. As this is a form of deep tissue massage which aims to release muscle tension it can be uncomfortable at times but I will always make sure to adjust the pressure to suit you.

If you are having a massage more for relaxation, I will still work fairly deeply to release tension but may avoid more trigger points if you prefer. We can discuss this before I begin the treatment.
